Department Overview


Eagle Asset Management is an investment management boutique within Raymond James Investment Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial. The Eagle-Vermont team is located in Waterbury, VT and focuses on investing in small cap equities. The team seeks to identify and invest in companies with differentiated products and services; a genuine commitment to stakeholders, including employees, customers, communities, and shareholders; a responsible approach to environmental stewardship and natural resource management; sound corporate governance practices; and long-term vision / perspective.



Job Summary


The summer associate will work closely with a Small Cap investment management team and participate in most aspects of day-to-day operations, including morning meetings, new idea discussions, portfolio strategy reviews, etc. The ideal candidate possesses intellectual curiosity and is excited to work in a collegial environment. This role calls for someone interested in the research that underpins sound investment decisions.



The summer associate position is a temporary role.



Start Date: Monday, June 2, 2025


End Date: Friday, August 8, 2025


Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week.



Duties and Responsibilities


  • Researching a specific industry, to be determined based on need/ expertise, and providing an overview of industry, industry dynamics, and market participants, as well as providing a detailed review of potential high-quality companies to be considered for investment.

  • Leading and/or supporting internal process-related projects to improve both the quality and efficiency of the teams workflow.  Potential projects could include updates to reports used for analyzing new potential investments, updates to risk analysis tools, or updates to quantitative stock selection tools.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 


Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Knowledge of %26ndash


  • Financial statements and financial statement analysis.  An aptitude for reading and understanding company filings.

  • Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.


Skill in %26ndash


  • Proficient in Excel.  Working knowledge of Bloomberg a significant positive.


Ability to %26ndash


  • Self-direct research and internal projects.

  • Dig deep to uncover insights on industries and companies.

  • Be a self-starter who is comfortable in a less structured environment. 


  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.


Educational/Previous Experience Requirements


  • Pursuing a bachelor%26rsquos or master%26rsquos degree in business, finance, or related field. 

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
