Department Overview

SumRidge Partners LLC is a top ranked principal based fixed income market maker, specializing in high yield and investment grade corporate bonds, municipal bonds, institutional preferred securities and emerging market bonds. SumRidge Partners was formed in 2010 following the aftermath of the financial crisis and subsequent liquidity shortfall that occurred within fixed income trading; operating as a premier, electronic based fixed income market maker.

Summer Associate Job Summary

Under general supervision, the SumRidge Non-Quantitative Trading Summer Associate uses knowledge and skills obtained through formal education and/or experience to work on specific projects within an assigned functional area. The Summer Associate will gain in-depth knowledge of the fixed income markets, trade execution and operations, fixed income securities (corporate and municipals), financial sales development and expansion skills and tools, and extensive knowledge about the fundamentals of the credit markets. Interns will work closely with the trading desk and learn all the roles of the sales and trading team. In addition, we will consider sponsoring qualified candidates interested in the opportunity to study for and take the General Securities Registered Representative License Exam (Series 7).



This is a temporary role.



Work Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week for a limited time, determined by department need.


Start Date: June 2, 2025


End Date: August 8, 2025


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting sales and trading professionals with research, marketing, sales development, trade operations, and other tasks associated with the trading and sales desk.

  • Works independently on assigned projects and tasks, meeting all delivery deadlines.

  • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of

  • General understanding of financial markets

  • Quantitative problem solving using programmatic approaches (i.e. R, Python, Excel) is preferred

  • Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.

  • Basic concepts, principles, and practices of an assigned business unit.

Skill in

  • Strong analytical and communication skillsets


  • Operating standard office equipment and using, or having the ability to learn, required software applications.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a virtual/hybrid team.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors degree with a graduation date between December 2025 and May 2027.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
