In this role, you will be part of the Verizon Global Legal Services team, an innovative legal center of excellence initiative. You will work closely with lawyers, business partners, contract-management members, and other stakeholders with international and US-based teams. Your responsibilities will include contract management, drafting transactional documents, performing data privacy impact assessments, and contributing to other legal practice areas and subject-matter domains based on your demonstrated abilities and experience. Your specific duties will include:

  • Enabling business partners and Sourcing in the drafting, reviewing, negotiation, and finalization of agreements.
  • Managing projects for various legal practice areas, including Privacy, Real Estate, Network & Technology, among others.
  • Assessing current or future Legal Department needs and priorities by communicating directly with internal/external legal professionals and other key stakeholders.
  • Using readily available as well as emerging legal and project management technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Processing agreements and performing projects in accordance with applicable policies and processes.
  • Identifying potential risks and making recommendations to business partners and other lawyers.
  • Optimizing legal processes to drive efficiency.
  • Ensuring adherence to expected turnaround times and service level agreements.
  • Interacting with business partners and suppliers/customers regularly to understand their requirements and provide necessary support.
  • Supporting peers with day-to-day activities.


What We’re Looking For:

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.
  • One or more years of relevant work experience in Legal.
  • Knowledge of policies, standards, and processes for managing and administering contracts, with the ability to use applicable processes and practices for managing a variety of contractual agreements.
  • Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization’s exposure to risks of various kinds, with the ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Good understanding of contract and other related laws.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, ability to manage adversarial negotiations and high-pressure situations, while at the same always being professional and respectful.
  • Ability to balance business and contract goals against legal, business, policy and reputational risks and make sound decisions to take appropriate risks.
  • Excellent communication and advanced executive presentation skills in person and virtually.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to understand and manage complex and time-sensitive processes, and work with online tools, without constant supervision or hand holding.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Team player with an ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to integrity.


Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge in contract negotiation.
  • Technical acumen in Legal tools, AI, and other emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with common project management systems such as Agile.
  • Experience in global or U.S agreements.
  • Master’s in Law.


Time Zone Management:

The candidate should be willing to work from 3:30 PM to 0.30 AM and 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM IST.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
