Asset Management Operations are responsible for front-to-back operational support to the Goldman Sachs Asset Management business in service, delivery, and processing functions across the trade, client, and product lifecycle.

Goldman Sachs Asset Management provides global investment opportunities to a substantial and diversified client base including institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. Critical to the success of the firm is our ability to leverage a global team of talented professionals in order to define solutions and lead change across the operational infrastructure.

Asset Management Public Operations is part of the Federation division of Goldman Sachs across the globe. It includes a dynamic working environment where control, client service and excellence in execution are fundamental principles.

The Shareholder Services in Tokyo (JSS) has primary responsibility for supporting Japanese clients investing in onshore /offshore mutual funds and alternative products. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with many local and global teams and to be involved in a wide range of client experience that will provide a broad exposure to the firm’s client service business. Especially, alternative investment is a growing business area, and JSS is searching for talent mainly engaged in the area.

Primary Responsibilities 

• Support clients’ alternative investment (onboarding, ongoing service), communicating with global teams and vendors (US, Europe), sales and clients.
• In addition to that, responsibility would include other than alternative investment:
• Support investors’ trade processing and settlements, and dividend/fee recipient process.
• Drive timely resolution for client inquiries and issues occurring in daily business.
• Support distributor/client onboarding, and setup in fund events. (i.e. launch, termination, and restructure)
• Perform due diligence when starting business with new distributors.
• Prepare regulatory reporting, client specified reporting and internal management reporting.
• Strategic vendor management on key service providers such as Accounting Agent, Transfer Agency of offshore fund, and system vendor.
• Work on local efficiency improvement initiatives and global projects.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Fluency in written and verbal Japanese, business level English
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the financial industry, preferably in Asset Management. 
• Knowledge of alternative products.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of onshore/offshore mutual funds would be also welcomed.
• Excellent priority management skill in a fast-paced and multi-task environment.
• Attention to detail to keep high quality service level as well as comprehensive view.
• Client focused mindset 
• Highly collaborative, team-oriented and strong consensus builder.
• Strong interpersonal skill to work with internal/external stakeholders of all levels of seniority.
• Global mindset while acting locally.
• Frequent escalation with risk management skill.
