We are seeking a highly motivated team player for an analyst role within the Retirement Solutions business of Client Solutions Group (CSG), which is part of our broader Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) business within the Asset and Wealth Management Division (AWM) of Goldman Sachs.  In this role, you will support the day-to-day needs of the Stable Value Client Portfolio Managers to contribute to servicing existing clients and generating new business..

The Stable Value Team engages with plan sponsors, investment consultants, and other financial intermediaries to manage existing stable value client relationships and develop new stable value business opportunities primarily for U.S. defined contribution (DC) plans. Stable Value (fixed income) is an investment option within DC plans that provides capital preservation for DC plan participants  These plans are retirement savings vehicles for employees of corporations and government entities (i.e. 401(k) and 457 plans). The existing members of the Stable Value Client Portfolio Management team serve as the primary contacts for their respective stable value clients, and are responsible coordinating, developing and delivering regular portfolio review presentations, market commentary and positioning ideas with their existing stable value clients, and working with the dedicated Stable Value Portfolio Managers to ensure the client’s objectives are being met through appropriate portfolio construction. 

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Work closely with Stable Value Client Portfolio Management (CPM) team members to prepare investment presentations for existing client portfolio review meetings as well as materials for new business presentations
  • Respond to informational requests from various sources including clients, prospects and consultants. These requests may include: requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for information (RFIs), consultant requests, and client inquiries and updates
  • Build and manage an industry knowledge base on the defined contribution and stable value markets, while researching new business opportunities and staying current on industry publications and newspapers, client web sites, conference materials, consultant and other databases, etc.
  • Work closely Stable Value CPM team to manage, enhance and develop existing client relationships and ensure all client needs are met.
  • Maintain client information regarding contacts, meeting notes and opportunities utilizing Salesforce
  • Coordinate routine updates of quarterly presentations and marketing materials that may include the following:
    • GSAM Stable Value Update Presentation
    • Stable Value 101 Presentation
    • Goldman Sachs Stable Value Collective Trust Fund Fact Sheet and Presentation
    • eVestment Universe Charts
  • Coordinate submission of all SEAL (internal compliance approval system) for CSCM Stable Value materials (investment review books, new business presentations, RFPs, and other marketing materials)
  • Conduct ad hoc marketing and sales efforts for Stable Value Team
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders across AWM Portfolio Management, Consultant Relations, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Technology and Marketing with a common goal of ensuring clients’ needs are met
  • Complete internal reporting needs for the Stable Value business.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR 

  • 0 -2 years of work experience at an asset management firm or other financial services organization
  • Basic knowledge of, and passion for, the asset management business and in particular the fixed income asset class
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail 
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialogue and interactions, and collaborate well with others to meet client needs
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment, including with colleagues based in different regional offices
  • Series 7 and 63  licensed.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or finance related studies preferred
