Multi-Asset Solutions

Multi Asset Solutions (MAS) is a multi-asset class investing group that sits within the Asset & Wealth Management business at Goldman Sachs. MAS is responsible for managing customized multi-asset class portfolios and funds in a discretionary manner for institutional clients. Our clients include US and international corporate and public pension plans, insurance balance sheets, endowments, foundations, healthcare institutions, and sovereign wealth funds. The team is comprised of professionals with deep and varied investment backgrounds who specialize in designing and implementing customized multi-asset class portfolios. The team applies rigorous techniques to strategic and dynamic asset allocation, asset-liability analysis, portfolio design and implementation, risk management, and portfolio reporting and analytics. The team has been managing customized multi-asset class mandates since 1995 as a committed partner to large institutions globally. 

Summary of Role:

The successful candidate would become a member of our investment team based in Chicago, as part of the Portfolio Construction and Manager Research group within MAS. The team is responsible for maintaining and developing portfolio construction best practices, developing model portfolio’s, research new strategies, review and select GS proprietary strategies and overseeing platform wide manager changes. This role is critical to the continued success of our multi-asset platform and will coordinate closely with the research team, client teams, product teams across the Asset Management, and the external manager research team. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Due diligence and monitoring of investment strategies
  • Provide portfolio construction advice to internal and external stakeholders 
  • Partner with the MAS Research team to model products and strategies
  • Support the development of best practices and model portfolio’s
  • Support research of new strategies
  • Maintain and further develop investment cases

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in financial economics, econometrics, or related discipline. 
  • Work experience is not a prerequisite for the role but appreciated.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Risk management and control orientation
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment 
  • Takes initiative, is pro-active and has the ability work with cross-functional teams spread globally. 
  • Strong work ethic and strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively, critically and clearly.

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $70000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
