Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted function that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Wealth Management (WM) Operations supports Private Wealth Management (PWM) which is responsible for advising clients on strategies to build and protect their financial assets through highly customized advice and service. WM Operations is instrumental in meeting our clients' needs and is responsible for the development, service delivery and control of global private banking; proprietary and open architecture alternative investment vehicles; derivatives trading; bookkeeping, accounting, performance measurement and reporting of Goldman-custodied assets and away-custodied assets; multiple externally managed account platforms; and multiple custody services. The WM Data Governance & Strategy team works closely with Sales, Legal, Compliance, Controllers, Technology and other groups in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of our client data. We also have Risk & Control oversight to ensure that all Data Attributes and flows are signed off by respective Data owners at a periodic frequency along with establishing a change management maintenance workflow.  Additionally, the department establishes the data strategy for the organization ensuring that Wealth Management can expertly service our clients and that we establish industry leading techniques to capture, validate and leverage client data. 

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Engage with relevant stakeholders for Data remediation to support regulatory uplift or data clean up as an interim measure, while we work through the strategic solution
• Apply sound business judgment to identify unusual or suspicious documentation or activity
• Resolve issues through coordination with the WM Teams, Regional Compliance Managers, WM Legal, and Operations groups such as the Client Onboarding Team
• Continuously identify and implement process improvements
• Leverage analytical skills, creative problem solving and project management skills to uplift the existing Data Governance model 
• Organize discussions with key stakeholders to understand how our technology works, thereby empowering you to define specific data attributes and identify the relevant owners and source 
• Improve the risk framework for data governance by documenting existing controls, analyzing their suitability, and recommending new controls for implementation
• Manage relationships with professionals from other teams and divisions by articulating recommendations in order to gain cross-divisional consensus
• Proficiency in Business Intelligence & Low code Automation solutions to digitize the Data Governance framework and improve efficiency

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree (Preferred: Master’s degree of Finance, Business or Commerce)
• Business Intelligence experience & relevant certifications (Tableau/ Alteryx) 
• Strong PC skills – MS Office
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Must be motivated and hard working
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines, personalities, and broad based coverage
• Knowledge and understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and adaptability to other software products
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of the investment management industry and GS is a plus
