The leader of Data Architecture is a critical role responsible for defining, implementing, and governing the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap. This role will lead a team of data architects to ensure alignment with business objectives, drive data-driven decision making, and foster a culture of data excellence. This role will be responsible to lead the design and implementation of advanced data architectures to support scalable, high performance analytical solutions.
Strategic Leadership:
Defining and championing the enterprise data architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap aligning with business goals and technology advancements.
Staying abreast of emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices to advise on future-proof solutions.
Partnering with senior leadership to advocate for data-driven initiatives and secure necessary resources.
Data Architecture and Design:
Establishing and maintaining data architecture principles, standards, and guidelines for data modeling, metadata management, data integration, and data security.
Leading the design and implementation of robust and scalable data solutions addressing business requirements while ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency.
Overseeing the development and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models.Your focus will be on delivering robust, secure, and cost-efficient data systems leveraging Google Cloud Platform and Hadoop technologies.
Team Management and Development:
Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a high-performing team of data architects, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Promoting professional development opportunities and knowledge sharing within the team.
Managing team performance, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization, including business units, data engineers, data scientists, and IT operations.
Effectively communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Advocating for data governance policies and ensuring adherence across the organization.
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
15 or more years of progressive experience in data architecture, data warehousing, and data management.
7 or more years of experience in leading and managing data architecture teams.
Strong understanding of data architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Proven experience designing and implementing data solutions on GCP, including deep familiarity with services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Data Fusion, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and ETL/ELT processes.
Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer and Cloud Architect Certifications
Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.
Expert knowledge of data modeling techniques, metadata management, and data integration patterns.
Familiarity with data governance tools and frameworks.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence and drive change.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CPRA).
Industry certifications in data architecture (e.g., TOGAF, DAMA).
