General Summary:

Design and develop cutting-edge digital signal processing (DSP) IP with a focus on audio applications. This role will involve working on various projects, including:

  • Hardware DSP IP Design: support digital signal processing hardware IP development for voice and audio applications. Collaborate with leads on the IP development using high-level synthesis (HLS) design flow and System C
  • Low Power digital CODEC and audio subsystem development
  • Digital CODEC and audio subsystem integration: define system architecture and integrate digital CODEC in SoCs
  • Audio peripheral device development: work on the development and bring-up activities of audio peripheral devices including ADC, DAC and audio AMPs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in digital signal or mixed signal processing including PCM and PDM domain filter design
  • Experience with high-level synthesis tools and System C
  • Experience with Matlab, Python and C/C++

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design systems-level hardware to implement DSP functionality; identify power constraints and potential tradeoffs and make recommendations to resolve issues and produce innovative solutions
  • Contribute to technical conversations and documentation (e.g., white papers, schematics, FDD, HLDR); escalate complex technical issues to an appropriate contact (e.g., project lead, colleagues)
  • Contribute to design reviews for subsystem development; define design constraints for specific projects; identify solutions to meet design targets
  • Collaborate with peers to design products that meet internal and/or external customer requirements and standards
  • Develop test environments and test cases to verify the design; work with peers to evaluate the impact of results and validate hardware against specifications; help define test plans to collect data on accuracy, reliability, performance, power, and robustness of design; organize and plot data to draw conclusions and present findings
  • Use appropriate tools (Matlab, Adobe Audition) and equipment (scope, APX, logic analyzer) to conduct common analyses of hardware design
  • Complete complex tasks and solve issues through the analysis of system model simulation data
  • Develop or adapt complex DSP algorithms and models aligned with product proposals or roadmaps

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

*Works in the lab, can use hazardous chemicals (e.g., glue, machinery).

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$122,500.00 - $183,700.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
