Job Description:

The IAM Authentication Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, administering, and maintaining various aspects of an IAM system. This role focuses on managing authentication processes, creating user access policies, and ensuring the security of the system. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement robust authentication solutions that protect sensitive data and maintain compliance. More About the Role:

  • Support the design, installation, and configuration of our organization’s Authentication framework.
  • Develop and enhance authentication protocols, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), OAuth, SAML, and OpenID.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to integrate with other security tools (SIEM, MFA, etc.).
  • Ensure seamless user authentication experiences across applications and platforms.
  • Create and enforce user access policies based on business requirements.
  • Implement access controls for different user roles and privilege levels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and maintain authentication standards.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure performance and compliance with security standards.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of privileged access, including provisioning, rotation, monitoring, and decommissioning of privileged accounts.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding architecture and processes.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on for internal stakeholders and guide the organization on best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to privileged accounts and access control.
  • Stay current with emerging security threats, technologies, and industry trends to continuously improve the security posture.
  • Proven track record in implementing IAM solutions in a large, complex environment.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Java) for automation of security tasks.
  • Experience with Azure/Entra ID (PowerShell preferred )
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and experience with audit support activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Ability to attain DHS EOD
  • BA + 12 years’ applicable experience, AA + 14 years’ applicable experience, MA + 9 years applicable experience or 18 years’ experience
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and securing cloud-native applications.
  • Familiarity with DevOps processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes).

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:

  • Previous DHS or DoD experience
  • Microsoft Azure Entra ID administrator experience
  • Experience with SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC), AWS IAM, Google IAM, External IdPs
