General Summary:

The Staff engineer will play a crucial role in leading the end to end development of cloud systems with the ability to design well-architected applications. These applications will need to scale efficiently and be highly responsive. The candidate is expected to be proficient in developing APIs and interfaces across various microservices, employing best practices and mentoring junior engineers in the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems or related field.
• 10 to 13 years of experience programming in Java.
• Experience providing technical leadership and backlog management
• Experience with system architecture and design spanning cloud and device
• Experienced with OO concepts, Spring / Spring Boot and Hibernate
• Experience designing and building backend REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure or GCP specifically managed services/PaaS customization. Certification is a plus.
• Should have prior experience with building highly scalable and highly available systems.
• Familiarity with various database technologies (SQL, noSQL), large data systems (datalake) and data life cycle management processes
• Experience using version control systems like Git (or SVN, Perforce)
• Should be able to utilize various microservice architecture patterns to design scalable and responsive systems.
• Experience with agile development methods and CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with CVE analysis and containment.
• Good communication skills including ability to interface with customers and 3rd parties.

Additional Qualifications:

The following would be considered as a bonus and are not required to be eligible for interviews:

• Proficiency with other languages like Python, or Node and test automation tools such as JMeter, or similar tools.
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks like React.
• Masters in CS/IS or related discipline.
• Cloud and security certifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
