Job Description:

The Opportunity:

 Join CACI as a Business & Strategy Intern, where you’ll play an essential role in driving business growth and supporting key national security programs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). We offer the opportunity to work closely with high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment, gaining hands-on experience in business strategy, operations support, and supporting critical defense missions.

This role is based at our Herndon, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates are expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance to facilitate regular on-site work.

Responsibilities:

Growth and Strategy:

  • Assist in the development, refinement, and presentation of strategic business documents to support the line of business (LOB) market strategy, growth objectives, and long-term planning initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of strategic frameworks for key opportunities by supporting the capture process, including managing milestone plans, coordinating capture-related meetings, and assisting with the preparation of interns briefings and reports

Operations Support:

  • Provide overarching support to ensure smooth operations across the LOB, including coordinating staff processes, managing project timelines, and assisting with intern research for program-specific documents and artifacts
  • Assist with mission screening processes, including reviewing incoming candidates for various programs and optimizing workflows using systems like Workday and TrakStar
  • Aid in transition planning for new and emerging contracts, including assisting with the creation of deliverables, managing schedules, conducting research for relevant materials, and supporting the execution of transition plans
  • Help refine and streamline staffing processes to improve efficiencies, enhance team collaboration, and improve client support across the LOB
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of business pipeline reports, ensuring up-to-date tracking and analysis of ongoing opportunities and upcoming business prospects

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in National Security, International Affairs, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and familiarity with collaboration platforms like SharePoint.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

    Desired:

  • Previous internship or work experience in defense contracting, national security, or related fields.

  • Familiarity with DoD and IC operational frameworks, acquisition processes, and business development practices.

  • Experience with market research, business development tools, and managing databases.

  • Knowledge of the current defense industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to national security.

  • Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
