Job Title: Business Intelligence Analyst

Meet Our Team:

The Office of the CTO is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst to lead the development of various dashboards that will drive decision-making processes and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in data visualization, and the ability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, understanding the data needs of the Office of the CTO, and creating dashboards that provide real-time, impactful data visualizations.

Your Way to Impact:

This candidate will be instrumental in helping the OCTO with reporting and analysis. This person will help gather data and contribute to storytelling/executive presentations through data and visualization.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Requirements Gathering – working closely to gather requirements and understand data. Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys to gather details and requirements
  • Dashboard Design & Development - design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in partnership with the data visualization team using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Data Analysis - analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform business decisions.
  • Develop and document detailed business rules and data models for dashboard projects.
  • Collaboration & Communication - present findings and recommendations to senior leaders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Training & Support - provide training and support to end-users to ensure they can effectively utilize the dashboards Develop user guides, training materials, and conduct training sessions as needed.

What You Need to Bring:

  • A successful candidate should have at least 6+ years of experience within business and/or data analysis
  • Experience working with tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar is required
  • Proficiency in using SQL for extraction and transformation of large data sets.
  • Experience in database schema design preferred.
  • Experience with scripting language like Python preferred.
  • Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Extensive experience in developing, maintaining and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics.
  • Experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, SQL, Power BI a plus.
  • A Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is preferred but not required
