Job Description

To support the execution of Navy Federal's investment and liquidity management strategy by ensuring proper accounting and documentation of associated transactions in compliance with federal regulations, and internal policies and procedures. Implements short-term tactical investment/borrowing techniques. Develops and maintains business relationships with multiple internal and external contacts. Monitors and is responsible for ensuring accurate reconciliation and proper documentation of cash and investment transactions, related fees and regulatory reports. Contributes to efficient operations by researching, recommending and implementing new or enhanced technology. Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and makes recommendations.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience in corporate treasury operations and executing corporate investments
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable accounting and bond math
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal Reserve regulations and cash management standards, practices and procedures
  • Significant experience applying techniques used in analyzing and reporting financial information
  • Experience leading projects and/or initiatives of small to medium scope
  • Experience presenting technical solutions and/or recommendations
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Advanced skill in responding to requests regarding complex financial information/data

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or the equivalent combination of experience, education and training
  • Significant experience with credit union financials and/or NCUA regulations
  • Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, policies, and procedures

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex post trade activities related to capital markets transactions, includes ensuring successful settlement of securities and/or cash with external counterparties
  • Ensure safety, soundness, and accuracy of multi-billion dollar investment and borrowing portfolios by performing on going accounting and coupon maintenance of investment, derivative, and borrowing portfolios
  • Execute, design and enhance complex financial and business controls
  • Coordinate with Capital Markets and executes final transactions for investor delivery and trades/securities, including resolving problems/discrepancies
  • Monitor and manage daily complex multi-million dollar cash flows daily through the Federal Reserve account to meet reserve and clearing balance requirements and determine funds available for investment or required for operations
  • Collaborate with the Federal Reserve, internal business units, and Navy Federal's contracted courier to reconcile transactions on Navy Federal's Reserve Account; identify and resolve complex substantial dollar value discrepancies
  • Process complex multi-million dollar corporate wires to fulfill the Credit Union's obligations Conduct moderate analysis on statistics and reports to discover, report, and leverage business performance and trends
  • Collect, prepare and maintain data for analysis, reports and reference; update and maintain reports and statistics for management
  • Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and industry laws, regulations and guidelines
  • Review proposed complex policy and procedure changes for technical adequacy, completeness, and compliance to regulations
  • Identify areas of improvement; determine solutions; implement enhancements/changes to improve operations, standards and results
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation regarding Navy Federal policies and processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
