Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Collections Specialist to support one of our partners, Red River on a remote basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting payments on outstanding invoices, assisting in customer credit analysis, and recording all relevant collection communications.

Responsibilities for the Collections Specialist include:

• Contact commercial and government accounts with open receivables to record estimated payment dates.
• Identify barriers to collection and collaborate with the billing team for invoice corrections and resubmissions.
• Document all correspondence with customers in the appropriate database or spreadsheet.
• Accurately record cash receipt transactions and update collection comments/notes.
• Prepare data for reporting to upper management as requested.
• Perform complex account reconciliations involving short pays, credits, and previous misapplications.
• Maintain a clean ledger for all aged accounts.
• Other business duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the Collections Specialist include:

• Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college-level work preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for college-level work.
• Preferred Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of Navision; experience with Costpoint is a plus.
  • Prior collections experience (2-3+ years).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Office (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to read and understand customer contracts.
  • Ability to navigate customer websites for invoice updates and payment advice.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient computer keyboarding skills and general computer knowledge.
• Basic math skills and understanding of accounting methods.
• Organized work methods with excellent prioritization skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Dynamics Navision and Deltek Costpoint.
• Strong communication skills via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
• Ability to conduct internet research for invoice collections.

Compensation for the Collections Specialist includes:

•       Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 *depending on experience*
