Reporting to the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer, you will provide strategic oversight and direction to the compliance advisory teams, ensuring alignment with FCA regulations and internal risk frameworks.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering practical solutions to complex regulatory challenges. You will play a critical role in embedding a culture of compliance, enhancing consumer trust, and ensuring the business remains proactive in meeting evolving regulatory expectations.

Provide expert advice on regulatory requirements, with a strong focus on FCA priorities such as Consumer Duty and vulnerable customer protections.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and regulatory bodies, to ensure collaborative and proactive compliance management.
Oversee the review and advisory process for new products, services, and business initiatives to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments, identifying risks and opportunities, and advising on their potential impact.
Act as a strategic partner to the business, providing practical, risk-based solutions to compliance challenges while enabling commercial objectives.
Drive the development and maintenance of policies, processes, and training to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Provide leadership in responding to regulatory inspections and inquiries, ensuring effective communication and transparency.
Job requirements and Interpersonal skills
Regulatory Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of FCA regulations, including Consumer Duty, vulnerable customer requirements, and broader financial services regulations.
Leadership: Proven experience in leading and motivating teams, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Payments Industry Knowledge: Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the UK payments environment, including regulatory frameworks for e-money wallets, merchant acquiring, and related credit offerings
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory requirements in a clear and practical manner.
Stakeholder Management: Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics and external regulatory relationships.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze regulatory trends, identify emerging risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Gravitas: Demonstrates authority and credibility in interactions with senior executives and regulatory bodies, acting as a trusted advisor on compliance matters.
Proactivity: Ability to anticipate risks and implement solutions before issues escalate.
Adaptability: Resilience in responding to an evolving regulatory and operational landscape.
Qualifications and Experience:
Significant experience in compliance leadership roles within regulated financial services organizations.
Deep knowledge of FCA regulations, particularly in areas of consumer protection and conduct risk.
Demonstrated experience in advising on regulatory requirements for new product launches and business initiatives within payments.
Strong track record of managing complex regulatory issues and building effective compliance frameworks.
Professional qualifications in compliance or financial regulation (e.g., ICA, CISI) are highly desirable
