Global Compliance

Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. Global Banking & Markets Public (GBM Public) Compliance is responsible for comprehensively identifying and managing the regulatory, legal, and reputational risks of GBM Public. 

Job Summary:

The Core Programs team within GBM Public Compliance oversees the integrated Compliance Program for GBM Public, globally.  This includes the periodic Compliance Risk Assessment of GBM Public, GBM Public regulatory change management program, governance of GBM Public Compliance Policies and Procedures, Firmwide Designated Market Activity Risk Assessment, and implementation of strategic initiatives. We are looking for a team member to help lead the identification, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting of regulatory changes across GBM Public Compliance while serving as a key participant in the redesign and implementation of the future state regulatory change management program for GBM Public. At times, the role will require navigating and problem solving across multiple teams and stakeholders bearing in mind timelines and a senior audience. 

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Help oversee the governance framework of regulatory change management program, including tracking metrics and reporting
  • Liaise with Compliance, Risk, Technology, Legal and other Federation areas to determine applicability and impact of regulations to GBM Public Compliance
  • Work collaboratively with Legal and Compliance SMEs, and first line business units to provide guidance on developing action plans to implement regulatory changes
  • Track the status of regulatory changes from assignment to Legal and Compliance SMEs to implementation of action plans by the business unit(s)
  • Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of the technology platforms that support the CRA and regulatory change management programs
  • Assist with the integration of new Assessment Units into the Compliance Management Framework
  • Assist with GBM Public Compliance involvement in the Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA) 
  • Execute various reporting for senior management (both in Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives impacting GBM Public Compliance
  • Participate in compliance-led projects and represent team on firmwide and cross regional projects and working groups
  • Deal with ad hoc requests and initiatives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience 
  • Experience designing either building, implementing and executing Regulatory Change Management Programs
  • Experience using or maintaining a repository for regulatory changes.
  • Ability to analyze processes and recommend ways to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Detailed oriented and able to perform data analysis.
  • Experience with developing management reports
  • Line Compliance Experience is preferred
  • Independently determines methods to solve most problems and takes action to execute solutions with limited assistance
  • Escalates and suggests solutions for complex issues to avoid unintended/negative impact with team and cross-functionally
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – engaging, communicative, assertive, persuasive, courteous and the ability to work with people across all levels of seniority
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and excel under pressure
  • Integrity, motivation and intellectual curiosity

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $85000-$140000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
