The Consultant of Supply Chain position includes project management and operational elements. The consultant will implement strategies to improve the inventory velocity, ensure inventory accuracy, and work on inventory reconciliation. The position would be responsible for monitoring inventory movements, understanding grading and disposition trends, working on forecasting and planning of inventory across devices and accessories. The consultant would have to work closely with the Monetization team to ensure the sale of devices and accessories are processed smoothly and without issue.
Developing strategies and processes to measure and ensure the security of the inventory on-site at the 3PL's.
Ensuring the adequate controls are in place to minimize shrink at the distribution centers.
Overseeing cycle counts audits with internal and external audit teams.
Developing and implementing corrective action plans, with DC & internal/external audit teams.
Developing processes to ensure accuracy of the Verizon Inventory System (SAP) to the 3PL’s warehouse management system and physical inventory on the floor.
Managing inbound discrepancies with original equipment manufacturing vendors, alternative repair networks, direct from consumers, and sales channels and establish new processes to reduce the number and hold them accountable to SLA's.
Reducing product obsolescence through inventory reviews and re-balancing efforts.
Identifying obsolescence drivers and effectively communicating solutions to third-party logistics providers.
Researching emerging issues that are customer impacting or business impacting; identify prompt resolution to these issues with root cause analysis, corrective actions across impacted systems or processes.
Reviewing current processes and providing solutions to enhance and optimize all processes under their scope to drive towards time and spend reductions for the operations at Finished Goods Warehouse (FGO).
Identifying opportunities and leading IT infrastructure implementation and development.
Supporting Reverse Inventory Planning team in the inventory balancing and reconciliations.
Working with the SOX compliance team on documentation, required process audits, and inventory audit requirements.

Not only are you a Grade A planner and organizer, but you know how to engage a diverse team, set clear standards, remove barriers, and ensure accountability. You’re no stranger to tight timelines and competing priorities. And you’re a superb communicator, able to interpret data in a relevant way, translate complex technical specifications into concrete requirements, and encourage and equip everyone around you to make sound decisions and do their best work.
You’ll need to have:
Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
Supply chain experience.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field preferred.
MBA or Master degree.
Experience in reverse logistics.
Experience managing cross-functional teams.
Experience with SAP.
APICS certification (or an equivalent supply chain certification).
6-Sigma Process Excellence or Lean Green Belt.
Supply chain experience, specifically pertaining to manufacturing, third-party manufacturing, sourcing, or procurement.
Experience in the telecom, high tech or CPG industries.
Experience Managing large-scale, complex projects with structured project management approaches.
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
