Job Description

We're a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s liquidity, capital and risk, and providing the overall financial control and reporting functions. Whether assessing the creditworthiness of the firm’s counterparties, monitoring market risks associated with trading activities, or offering analytical and regulatory compliance support, our work contributes directly to the firm’s success. The division is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.

London Regulatory Controllers are responsible for ensuring that Goldman Sachs’ UK entities maintain adequate capital resources to meet the firm’s investment business commitments and to withstand the risks to which the business is subject, e.g. Market Risk, Credit Risk and Operational Risk.

Regulatory Reporting team is responsible for the production of all internal and external prudential regulatory capital reporting for EMEA regulated entities. The current vacancy is for an Associate candidate within the Regulatory Reporting Production Reporting team specializing in Capital, RWA and Leverage ratio computations.   

The Regulatory Reporting team sits within the Controllers department, a part of the Finance division.  This is a very high profile team involved in a wide range of areas/issues and involves interaction with many other areas of the Firm.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support the delivery of Regulatory projects that include the project management of new technology and infrastructure builds, across all typical project phases: 
  • Project initiation and scoping, including definition of plans and setting and managing realistic expectations for successful delivery with project stakeholders 
  • Business analysis and requirements definition 
  • Testing and implementation, in particular user acceptance testing 
  • Ongoing project management, including progress monitoring, reporting and quality assurance throughout the project 
  • Build and manage strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders across Divisions and effectively manage competing priorities across these groups 
  • Understand the Division’s and team’s strategic plans, business, process and architecture in order to influence design and develop solutions 
  • Work with the regulatory experts to assess and streamline processes in order to mitigate risk, cost or service issues and generate efficiencies 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelors / Undergraduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of work experience, at least 8 years in project management 
  • Demonstrate excellent people, process and project management skills 
  • Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders outside their direct control 
  • Comfortable facilitating project working groups and possesses strong data gathering skills 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and oral; confident in interaction with senior stakeholders 
  • Strategic thinker with strong business analysis and planning skills. Capable of identifying and interpreting wider-ranging issues: ‘Big picture’ understanding. Provides creative & innovative solutions. Ability to formulate the implications of a specific solution across processes, e.g. costs, risk, service 
  • Have a proven track record of scoping and driving delivery of projects and achieving results independently, on time and to budget including: 
  • Strong analytical skills including process analysis. Very strong interest in the underlying detail of the analysis is a must 
  • Ability to design practical solutions 
  • Project management skills including project scope definition; project issues, challenges, risks definition; status reporting; User Acceptance Test execution 
  • Strong organization skills - ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly 
  • Exemplary attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure 
  • Demonstrate understanding of regulatory processes and procedures and an ability to learn quickly. Knowledge of products and processes related to the financial services industry and regulatory operations would be an advantage, as is related experience in technology strategy or in a client service or business function and / or management consulting 
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of job-related operational and compliance procedures 
  • Understands and appropriately addresses Goldman Sachs compliance and reputational judgment issues 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE 

  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in a project management and business analysis function supporting both business process and technology implementations’ 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project Plan, JIRA management Visio and SharePoint 
  • Certifications on project management like PMP, PRINCE and Scrum Master or Agile framework is preferable
