Job Description

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Regional Controllers teams cover Legal Entity Controller and Regulatory Reporting for the local legal entities. The teams would also be expected to support other Finance & Risk processes, including Corporate Treasury and Tax.   

REGIONAL CONTROLLER

We are seeking an experienced Vice President to be the Executive Committee member of Goldman Sachs Bank AG responsible for Risk and Finance. Furthermore this role will oversee our Regional Controller teams in Zurich, Paris and Riyadh (“the regional offices”). 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the preparation of all financial and regulatory reporting to the board of directors in the regional offices 
  • Responsible for the preparation of the statutory financial statements and running of a smooth audit with PwC in the regional offices 

  • Responsible for maintaining an effective system of internal control over financial and regulatory reporting in each of the regional offices 

  • Responsible for the capital planning in each of the regional offices, including an ICARAP  

  • Responsible for the operation of an effective risk control function for monitoring GS Bank AG’s risk profile in line with its risk appetite 

  • Proactively working with Private Wealth Management to support the growth of the business in GS Bank AG 

  • Proactively working with Global Banking & Markets to support business growth with robust control frameworks in the regional offices 

  • Responsible for the appropriate staffing of all Controller teams in the regional offices 

  • Proactively working with our Tax, Treasury and Risk departments to ensure any matters in these areas in the regional offices are appropriately handled 

  • Proactively seeking to identify improvements to manual processes and management reporting information leading to higher value added work 

  • Involvement in a broad range of department–wide projects and initiatives as well as cross-departmental initiatives 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Acting at vice president level for 10y+ 

  • Experience working in a regulated financial institution, with interaction with regulatory authorities and operating at executive committee level an advantage 

  • Experience covering wide range of disciplines, e.g. Controllers, Tax, Treasury, Risk 

  • Qualified accountant, with experience preparing audited financial statements  

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 

  • Strong communication skills  

  • Willing to work in a highly-driven team environment 

  • Ability to work under pressure 

  • Highly-motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills
