What you’ll be doing...

You’ll uncover and create actionable insights to drive our strategies, business decisions, and overall competitive advantage. The work you do will be the driving force behind uncovering hidden truths and transforming data into actionable strategies. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our brand's reputation. We are seeking a highly skilled Insights Sr. Manager with a specialization in public relations and corporate communications research to join our team. In this role, you will conduct research and analysis to inform and support the PR strategies and campaigns that drive Verizon’s best-in-class Brand Reputation. You will leverage your expertise in market research methodologies and data analysis to generate insights that shape our brand's messaging, reputation management, and media relations efforts.

Digging into lots of data fascinates you, and you know its real value lies in the insights it provides. You specialize in public relations and corporate communications research. You have a consulting approach to understanding research needs and designing the right solutions. People trust and value your opinion. You’re able to translate data into narratives and tailor your presentation and recommendations to the audience's function and level to meet their needs. But you’re not just about the numbers; you have a business mindset that makes your recommendations sound and practical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Comprehensive Research: Design and execute research projects encompassing various quantitative and qualitative methodologies to gather data on Verizon’s brand perceptions, reputation, and competitor analysis.

  • Analyze and Interpret Data: Use data visualization techniques to uncover meaningful insights and trends that inform strategic decision-making.

  • Develop Actionable Recommendations: Translate research findings into strategic recommendations for PR campaigns, messaging, brand strategy, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

  • Conduct Workshops and Brainstorming: Bring together adjacent teams that analyze media coverage, social media sentiment, and industry trends to ensure research insights are effectively integrated into the overall brand reputation strategy.

  • Present Findings Effectively: Communicate research findings in a compelling and persuasive manner, using data visualization and storytelling techniques.

  • Partner with Stakeholders: Further our reputation with customers, key government opinion leaders, financial analysts, and employees.

  • Monitor Brand Reputation: Responsible for understanding the results of our 3rd party annual Master Brand Reputation Tracker. Present results to senior leaders.

  • Conduct Research for PR: Identify relevant topics and design and execute research projects. Help the Corporate Communications team translate those results into interesting, media-worthy news stories that will keep Verizon top of mind with our stakeholders.

  • Conduct Research to Inform our Corporate Social Responsibility Strategies: Evaluate program performance and make recommendations to optimize these programs.

  • Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Relevant work experience in Market Research, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in conducting custom qualitative and quantitative market research purposes.

  • Experience conducting research among hard-to-reach populations such as financial analysts and government officials.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
