OUR IMPACT

The Corporate Planning & Management (CPM) Division unifies Finance & Planning, Spend Management, Operational Risk and Resilience, and CPM Engineering teams to deliver business planning and analytics, expense management, third party risk management, and governance strategies across the firm.  CPM have 5 operating pillars. 

Finance & Planning supports the execution of the firm’s strategic objectives through the management of the planning process, firmwide reporting and analytics and insights into the firm’s business plans and budgets. They develop consistent framework for revenue division projections creating transparency, accountability and efficiency around projections. This pillar also includes the CF&O, EO and Engineering divisional CFOs, who are strategic finance advisors helping the firm and the non-revenue divisions achieve commercial financial opportunities. Product Finance is responsible for the overall governance and proactive management of the firm’s non-compensation expenses. Spend Management encompasses the functions responsible for managing all aspects of the firm's spend with third parties - advising commercial agreements and driving operating efficiency. 

Departments include Strategic Sourcing, Procure to Pay, Integrated Travel and Expense, Infrastructure and Transformation and Sustainable Operations. Operational Risk & Resilience drives firmwide Operational Risk programs along with second line teams and implements required changes within CPM. The Corporate Insurance & Advisory team in this pillar identifies, procures, and manages corporate insurance needs for the firm and its investing businesses. The CPM Engineering team provides engineering solutions that enable the firm to manage third-party spend, data and automation, plan budgets, forecast financial scenarios, allocate expenses, and support corporate decision making in-line with the firm’s strategic objectives.

Professionals in CPM have an analytical mindset, exhibit intellectual curiosity and are from diverse academic backgrounds. This role sits within the Spend Management pillar, within Product Enablement & Transformation.

The Product Enablement & Transformation team is a global team who enable Goldman Sachs to manage our vendor population actively and effectively, deliver supply chain effectiveness, travel & expense processing & enable Source-to-Pay activity through the platforms we maintain within our architecture. Through excellent functional, project, program, and change management skills, along with a bias for becoming the subject matter or technical expert and driving our strategic architectural vision, this team seeks to fulfil the vision of our clients and partners with employees across platforms like Ariba, S4, Concur, KY3P & Fieldglass. The Product Enablement & Transformation team work closely with senior leadership, process owners, Spend Management Engineering and our vendors to drive supply chain value and achieve Corporate Planning & Management’s objectives & key results.

The role will sit within the Invoice to Pay Product Pillar and will play a Product Strategy leadership role across our invoicing tools, Ariba, Fieldglass and S4 HANA. The role requires collaboration with different functions across the firm on a regular basis, an ability to work independently, and ability to interact with senior professionals across the firm. It also entails in-depth analysis and reporting for senior management, requiring diligence and a commercial mindset. The candidate will also have a process transformation skill set and own a horizontal process transformation pillar, helping better enable our platforms to meet user needs and for the process to be well orchestrated. The candidate is required to work closely with global counterparts. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Leading the Invoice to Pay product strategy, looking to understand emerging technologies, business problem statements and bring together a clear vision and roadmap for the product.
  • Leading large scale process and platform transformation proejcts
  • Partner and drive holistic change across the E2E platform suite, including tools like Ariba Sourcing & Contracting, Buying & Invoicing, & SLP. You will need to utilize internally built applications to ensure our leadership and business stakeholders have access to up-to-date information and commitment transparency. 
  • Support wider infrastructure priorities, standards, and strategy globally as well as playing leadership roles across various forums or teams. 
  • Own Product strategy for a range of sub-Products under the Invoice-to-Pay pillar, primarily driving the I2P platform strategy for Ariba & Fieldglass and some in house invoicing products & the sub-ledger whilst the data lake to deliver a seamless product experience.
  • Mentor, coach and lead other junior members of the Product Team.
  • Focus on user experience, seeking to refine the product and drive user-centric platform strategies to make the buying process seamless, orchestrated, controlled and transparent.
  • Adopt data-driven decision making to assist in driving application adoption and success.
  • Constantly grow your knowledge and experience, staying close to industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Prioritize flexibility and a ‘how can we make this work’ approach to the most difficult problems to solve.
  • Establish yourself as a deep subject matter expert.
  • Pro-actively work with the wider team on the day-to-day technical queries related to system logic and perform defect/data analysis as well as support specific audits, internal and external.
  • Communicate progress and relevant updates to project drivers, relevant functions and maintain key documentation of approvals where required.

Qualifications: 

  • Strong functional skills with 6-8 years of experience in Ariba, Fieldglass or similar Invoice to Pay application.
  • Strong integration experience with other modules within S2P ecosystem (S4 HANA, iCertis, Guided Buying, Concur, Candex)
  • 8+ years’ experience in Source to Pay, Program Management, Operations or similar.
  • This person should have deep knowledge in the source to pay landscape and should demonstrate capabilities in digitization.
  • This person should have fair knowledge in regional taxation and its impact in the invoice to pay space.
  • Excellent proven process and platform transformation skills.
  • Experience/understanding  of the value of process and platform orchestration. 
  • Clear fundamentals of Source to Pay Process
  • Have led at least one medium-large scale platform deployment project in Professional Services space. 
  • People leadership/mentoring experience. 
  • Knowledge on Agile change management and platforms like JIRA and Confluence or similar would be beneficial.
  • Flexible and focused work ethic to deliver in a global organization delivering both organizational and technical system changes.
  • Strong analytical skills and bias for using data to make decisions and confirm/set direction. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with Cross-functional teams & present to senior leadership.
  • Ability to work across hierarchies and geographies, with flexible working style. 
  • Strong accounting knowledge and experience in accounting processs and understanding of ERP core processes.
  • Highly motivated with ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in Financial Services industry will be beneficial but not required.
