The Opportunity:
As a DARC Economic Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in aligning economic frameworks with military operations to support strategic planning, and mission execution. You will work alongside command leadership to translate complex economic data into actionable insights, shaping operations and long-term strategy in competitive and contested environments.
1. Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate economic considerations into operational planning, targeting, and campaign design.
2. Analyze global and regional economic trends to forecast risks and opportunities impacting mission success.
3. Develop strategies that leverage economic instruments.
4. Provide economic expertise to support information operations, influence, and multi-domain operations.
5. Act as a key advisor, providing strategic recommendations that enable commanders to make informed decisions by contextualizing economic data within political, military, and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and produce economic assessments to inform strategic and operational planning.
2. Identify vulnerabilities, dependencies, and leverage points within adversary economic systems.
3. Support the design and implementation of economic influence strategies across the competition continuum.
4. Collaborate with leadership and across interagency and other communities to build a shared understanding of economic dynamics throughout the battlespace and to align with overarching operational objectives.
5. Deliver briefings, reports, and actionable insights to senior leaders on the economic implications of current and future operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in economics, international relations, political economy, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 10 years in roles involving strategic economic analysis, defense planning, or related national security responsibilities.
3. Demonstrate ability to synthesize complex economic data into operational and strategic recommendations for military or government stakeholders.
Desired:
1. Advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD) in economics, strategic studies, or a related discipline with a focus on national security.
2. Experience supporting operational or strategic-level military planning (O-5 level or above).
3. Familiarity with tools such as economic modeling software, global trade data platforms, or open-source intelligence resources.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise presentations and reports to both technical and non-technical audiences.
5. Ability to work independently in fast-paced, complex environments and coordinate across diverse teams.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
