Job Overview:
Qualcomm is looking for a Senior Architect/Technical Manager (m/f/d) to lead and optimize its next generation data processing platform to support Autonomous Driving commercialization efforts. Our goal is to design and build a highly scalable, efficient, and modular data platform. This platform will be used by engineers to run automotive re-simulation pipelines, machine learning workloads, data annotation, perform in-depth data analysis/analytics, visualize results, and more. Excellent communication and planning skills are critical in this role as we'll be working with internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Work with team leads to understand use cases, requirements and bottlenecks in operation. Lead a team of software, data engineers across timezones.
Build proof-of-concepts to validate proposed designs and provide feedback. Analyze day to day monitoring of the health of the pipelines, execution flows, cost optimizations
Lead implementation of containerized workloads, microservices, distributed messaging systems and highly scalable distributed processing services.
Drive automotive software engineering best practices within immediate and external teams
Support users of the platform, interface with customers from different continents
Collaborate in global cross functional team with Product management, program management, budgeting and responsible for resources
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 11+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 9+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and suitable experience.
Must Have :
Industry experience in designing and implementing scalable solutions or tools in Automotive/ADAS or AI/Robotics.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including services like AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks or Google BigQuery and on premises infrastructure.
Experience with Infrastructure based Process: Monitoring, Capacity Planning, Facilities Management, Performance Tuning, Asset Management, Disaster Recovery, Data Center Support.
Experience with Servers, Infrastructure, Platform Sizing, Infrastructure Cost Reduction, ML operations for training.
Experience with CI/CD in cloud with Jenkins, GitOps, Chef and Ansible.
Experience with Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK etc.
Strong experience in Kubernetes and container orchestration services.
Experience Data Integration tools like Airflow, Argo workflows, or and cloud native technologies.
Familiarity using an object oriented programming language such as Python, C++, Java. -> clean coding in these languages, code analysis tools.
Good to have :
Experience in Autonomous Driving applications, automotive standard protocols and formats (MDF, ADTF, ROS) highly preferred.
Experience in working on data collection pipelines from vehicle building, data collection tools with C++, annotation pipelines preferred.
