Job Description

When you join Verizon

You want more out of a career. A place to share your ideas freely — even if they’re daring or different. Where the true you can learn, grow, and thrive. At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together — lifting our communities and building trust in how we show up, everywhere & always. Want in? Join the V Team Life. What you'll be doing...

As the Associate Director of Applied Analytics in the Digital Marketing and Base Management Marketing Group, you will lead a team of individuals focused on finding revenue and retention opportunities within the Consumer base.  You will lead the development and execution of our AI-powered products. You'll play a pivotal role in defining the strategic direction of our AI/ML products, working closely with cross functional teams to ensure successful product development and delivery. Your work will help us meet our customers’ needs and make it even easier for them to do business with us.

Business KPIs we will look to optimize are:  voluntary churn, upgrades, activations (AAL, winback), product adds, plan step ups, and ARPA.  Once your opportunities are identified, you’ll work with marketers across VBM to build a campaign test design which will incrementally evaluate the effectiveness of your strategy in market.

What we're looking for...

You have a passion for leveraging data to drive real-world business impacts. You have a knack for telling complex data stories simply so that your audience understands and acts on your insights. You enjoy working in unexplored areas of the business where our understanding is limited and prior best practices are un-established.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field (eg. engineering, computer science, mathematics, economics) or four years or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Experience optimizing business KPI's through the use of machine learning models.

  • Experience in research, analytical, and critical thinking.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Strong data mining and visualization skills.

  • Ability to build detailed and compelling financial business cases.

  • Leadership experience.

  • Strong ability to present to senior leadership across multiple lines of business.

  • SQL and database management experience.

  • Other coding language experience.

  • Code automation platform experience (BTEQ, R, SAS).

  • Operations Research mathematics understanding.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
