CACI is seeking a Data Scientist to provide engineering and technical support to assist our government customer the with collection of Live Imagery Products for Standardization (CLIPS) within the Department of Navy Electro-Optic (EO) Science and Technology (S&T) community.  Products will support algorithm development on Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) and other customers. You will demonstrate competent writing and oral communication skills as well as ensure quality products and services are delivered to the customer.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Support the development, installation, deployment, and maintenance of technical solutions. You will work to schedule and manage configuration changes, upgrades, and security configuration. You will participate in deployment and administration of solutions, perform troubleshooting, and support integration testing.

Recommend best-practice solutions. Provide end-to-end monitoring of hardware and software performance and availability. Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas of expertise. Act as a resource to team members, participates in team and professional meetings. The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong engineering background in Design, Migration and Implementation. Provide hands on technical engineering expertise and development of services, systems and interfaces in coordination with government and other engineers to ensure system requirements are met as each subsystem is identified, developed, integrated and validated.

More About the Role:

  • Provide annotated and labeled video from Naval Imagery Collection Service (NICS) collections (i.e., descriptors of scene content and collection pedigree, no bounding boxes applied within the video)

  • Review documentation and community feedback to generate a holistic ontology to capture the variety of scene content in a manner that allows applications based on visual cues from observing motion imagery. 

  • Provide recommendations for improving the fidelity of this ontology to include other data sources such as AIS, ADS-B, etc.

  • Support development AI/ML workflow tools in support of military motion imagery analysis.

  • Support definition of metadata requirements to support labeling of military motion imagery.

  • Develop metadata tools and models to support streamlined imagery labeling.

  • Support development and implementation of efficient processes and tools for data set preparation and dissemination.

  • Support development and implementation of data models in a variety of formats to support the growth of NICS tool sets and data richness captured during data collections.  This will include providing documentation, processes, and tools to perform this task.

  • Support onsite data collection at scheduled test events utilizing the NICS hardware.

  • Identify/perform NICS hardware upgrades to support evolving collection requirements.

  • Support the EO S&T customer with engineering services, as required.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science or Engineering Discipline and 3+ years of related experience.

  • Must have a secret clearance or have an interim Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite; Security clearance is required before starting this position).

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Advanced level knowledge and experience working with MS Access, SQL server and database design and management.

  • A basic understanding of Electro Optic technical operational procedures and requirements, and knowledge of the government communities that work in and with Electro Optics.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with Imaging Processing and AI/ML experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience with requirements traceability / tracking and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to include DOORS and CAMEO.

  • Experience working in DoD community.

  • Active security clearance

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$74,600-$156,700
