Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Scientist to supporting a federal program with the IRS. This is a hybrid position with on-site work one day/week located in New Carrolton, MD. The Data Scientist will help the organization and team predict and identify current and future threats related to various data.

Responsibilities for the Data Scientist include:

  • Gather data from various sources, cleanse and process the data, and use statistical methods to analyze and uncover patterns, trends, and insights.

  • Collaborate with various Cyber Security and Data teams to protect the IRS Network and perform self-driven development/analysis work

  • Create various data visualizations and reports, create scripts to analyze data using various languages

  • Develop and implement machine learning models, prepare detailed reports and presentations, and collaborate with teams.

    Required Qualifications for the Data Scientist include:

  • 5+ years of experience with Data Science work

  • Experience with machine learning algorithms, data modeling, and data visualizations

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, R, and SQL

  • Bachelor's Degree Required

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active IRS Public Trust 

    Compensation for the Data Scientist include:

  • Compensation varies based on YOE and LCAT Requirements - targeting $150,000-180,000/year

  • Full Benefits, PTO, Holidays, Medical, 401k, Paid Sick Leave as required by law
