Job Description

Zachary Piper solutions is seeking a Database Administrator III (DBA) to support a government client located in Albany, GA. The DBA is responsible for maintaining and securing supported databases; including monitoring and updating malware protection software to prevent security breaches, creating account data for authorized access, and organizing databases for efficient document retrieval.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, manage, and monitor databases and database applications.
  • Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement database requirements for new or existing applications.
  • Modify and implement changes to database systems and information.
  • Ensure databases store and retrieve data as intended.
  • Monitor database operations and provide support to ensure accessibility of database applications and information.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades and maintenance activities to ensure data security compliance.
  • Create and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Work with developers to troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Execute disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunctions.
  • Optimize database performance and efficiency by evaluating and recommending new database technologies.
  • Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries, guiding them with best practices.
  • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including defragmentation, backups, and replication.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud database technologies.
  • Preferred certifications at the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) I level, such as A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, and SSCP.
    • ability to obtain a Security+ certification within the 1st 3 months of employment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related field from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain a government Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience with migrations from Oracle to SQL.
  • Knowledge of software programming, development, review, audit, testing, configuration management, and changes.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automating database administration tasks.
  • Preference for candidates with DoD or Federal Government industry experience.

Compensation:

Salary: $95,000 - $105,000/ year

Location: Albany GA, 100% onsite

Clearance Level: must be eligible to work in the united states and obtain and maintain an Active US governemnt Public Trust clearance
