Position Specific Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for leading the valuation and structuring of new business opportunities including coordinating technical analysis, quantitative financial modeling, risk identification and mitigation and preparing presentations to senior management to support the company’s strategic plans.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead opportunity evaluations (strategic rationale, considerations, technical assessment, valuation and presentations to Senior Management)
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts across multi-disciplinary teams to review and analyze technical, land and commercial information
  • Stay current on industry transactions / trends and metrics (relative to geographic location, oil/gas weighted, $/boe/mcfe, etc.)
  • Translate complex technical and financial information into an organized and presentable manner for senior management and executives
  • Mentor and develop junior team members

Job Specific Skills

  • Strong knowledge of oil & gas economics and onshore unconventional plays
  • Advanced understanding of the technical evaluation process for oil and gas assets
  • Familiarity with ARIES and Enverus / IHS. Proficient in MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word. Ability to use Spotfire, ArcGIS a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and committed team player



Job Overview

This positon is responsible for evaluating all acquisition and divestiture opportunities of operating assets pursued by the company. Leaders in this role prepare and present presentations for senior management and must have excellent communications skills and the poise to present to highest levels of management. Individuals in this position are expected to plan, coordinate, and manage staff in their work to identify and analyze the impact of relevant investment, environmental and/or business issues facing NextEra Energy on the company’s financial structure, profitability, financial integrity and competitive position. The successful candidates applies advanced commercial skills and abilities to comprehend, analyze, frame and resolve complex analytical issues and distill them into simple to understand analysis for management decision making, communicating the key investment benefits and risks to senior management, providing expertise and support to other NextEra departments requiring financial consulting services or financial training, and apply advanced delegation and interpersonal skill sets related to managing assigned staff resources. 



Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the group’s relationships with functional area customers and senior management
  • Participates in the deal due diligence and execution process by providing necessary support assessments in transactions and negotiations
  • Plans and executes accurate and timely valuation input with regard to issues, strategies and specific investment decisions as requested by senior management
  • Ensures analysis work is complete, accurate and adheres to group policies and standards
  • Administers and manages assigned staff resources including setting their performance and development goals
  • Implements group goals and objectives
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining group policies and standards and implementation of group goals and objectives
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 10+ years

  • Master's - Business Administration
