About this Role
The Director of Accounting will support the VP of Finance in overseeing the accounting and finance operation of all PAR West and dba QUES.
The position will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring each division's financial and accounting activities while ensuring proper compliance with the company's financial systems and controls in accordance with generally accepted accounting and finance principles.
What You'll Do
- Work with Corporate Accounting team to close books monthly including posting of WIP (work in progress), over/under billings for deferred revenue entries, and accruals for all open contracts. Post associated journal entries, as well as review of unallocated costs and overhead expenses for each division.
- Lead monthly job review meeting with Project Managers, Estimators, Division Manager, and Corporate Accounting.
- Set up projects in accounting system and load initial working budgets, monitor project performance, and post change orders as received.
- Assist Division Managers and Vice Presidents with the annual business plan and develop annual revenue budgets.
- Prepare monthly revenue forecasting and provide corporate with variance from forecast analysis.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable Aging reports, DSO, and Retainage Receivables.
- Assist corporate departments with managing division AP, AR and Payroll functions.
- Serves as accounting lead for the region, conducts training for accounting personnel in divisional offices and helps develop process improvements.
- Provide project cost trend analysis of actual versus potential cost, review financial commitments incurred to predict future revenues and expenses to help identify budget over-runs and cost savings initiatives.
- Provides support to Operations to help develop RFQ/RFI submittals relating to projects or financial data.
- Assists with the development and tracking of key performance metrics.
- Work with external and internal auditors as well as customer-driven revenue and DBE audits.
- Ensure effective financial controls are maintained.
- Maintain and implement periodic reviews of projects and accounting controls for SOX compliance.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of accounting experience required.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles the US).
- Construction, utility, or related industry experience is required.
- Mid to large-size company experience.
- Supervisory experience is required (either direct or indirect reports).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications especially Excel, Power BI, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- High level of integrity with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize projects under tight time deadlines.
- Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).

Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $190,000.00/Yr. - USD $225,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
