General Summary:

The Sourcing Director will lead the direct procurement of EDA and Third-Party IP for both hardware and software across all Qualcomm design projects. Responsibilities include identifying and qualifying strategic suppliers, negotiating pricing and contractual terms, and managing business models. The role requires collaboration with engineering, finance, and program leads to align internal requirements with supplier offerings, and to support make vs. buy decisions.

General Summary:

  • Join a team executing direct procurement of EDA and 3rd Party IP across all Design Projects.
  • Identify and qualify strategic suppliers for these domains.
  • Work cross functionally to put in place TLA and SLAs.
  • Comfortable negotiating the contractual T&Cs for products that incorporated in QCOM products
  • Ability to structure, negotiate, and manage business models with strategic suppliers.
  • Identify strategic suppliers and work cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and program leads of the design projects to match their internal. Collaborate cross functionally to weigh the make vs buy decisions.
  • Continue to build strong, trust-based strategic relationships internally and externally to bring more value to Qualcomm.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• 9+ years of Sourcing or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Master’s Degree in Procurement
  •  10+ years of direct procurement in technology licensing
  •  Experience sourcing EDA and 3rd Party IPKnowledge and experience in the following design domains: Wireless, Compute/CPU, IoT, or Automotive
  • Track record of building trusted relationships internally and externally.
  • Background must show analytical skills to derive conclusions from often complex data sets.
  •  Be able to crystallize conclusions into simple messaging targeting all levels of management.
  •  Experience to read, edit, write, and negotiate contracts working with the internal cross-functional team members (engineering, procurement, finance, legal).
  •  Must understand the basics of finance and legal terminology.
  •  Team player with ability to execute in a matrix-environment.
  •  Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Pay range:

$175,500.00 - $263,300.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
