Location: The Woodlands, Texas and Houston, Texas 77049 (dual locations)

Amount of Travel Required: 20-25%

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M                         

Positions Supervised: Logistics, Warehousing, Facilities

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive supply chain strategies aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and reducing costs across logistics, warehouse management, and inventory control. This position oversees all logistics operations, ensuring the timely delivery of goods through effective transportation, distribution, and shipment coordination.

Key responsibilities include directing warehouse operations to optimize space utilization, design effective layouts, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. The role involves implementing advanced inventory management systems to maintain optimal stock levels, streamline replenishment processes, and minimize excess inventory.

The director will also assess facilities security, implementing robust security protocols, monitoring systems, and emergency response plans to create a secure operating environment. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and cross-functional teams is crucial to enhancing collaboration and resolving operational issues.

In addition, the Director of Supply Chain Operations will identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reduction initiatives, lead and mentor the operations team, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Setting, tracking, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) will be essential to evaluate the effectiveness of logistics, inventory management, and security operations, thereby driving performance improvements across the supply chain.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word 'may.')

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs across logistics, warehouse management, and inventory control.
  • Oversee the logistics operations, including transportation, distribution, and coordination of shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Direct warehouse operations, ensuring optimal space utilization, effective layout design, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Implement inventory management systems to optimize stock levels, streamline replenishment processes, and minimize excess inventory.
  • Manage facilities security protocols, including access controls, monitoring systems, and emergency response plans to ensure a secure operating environment.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, logistics partners, and cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration and resolve issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost reduction initiatives within the supply chain operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards, while establishing reporting metrics to monitor performance.
  • Set, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of logistics, inventory management, and security operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, an any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S Driver’s License
  • In-person, predictable attendance

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years relevant supply chain, project management and /or logistics
  • Experience in the energy industry required, with a strong preference for oil field and manufacturing subsectors

  • Experience in developing, executing and managing departmental strategy as well as building and managing a team
  • Strong leadership and proven ability to recruit, direct, train and manage teams of personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines and prioritize effectively, while delivering high quality work
  • Solution oriented with attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a strong sense of client service
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain and inventory management resources and tools

  • Strategic thinker, team player, proficient time manager
  • Excellent organization, analytical and negotiating skills required
  • Requires some travel to field locations, company and vendor facilities as well as customer locations

The Director of Supply Chain Operations is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
