This Distinguished Engineer-Software Development will be responsible for overseeing the technical design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the BSS (Business Support System) applications like Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Billing and Revenue Management, Fraud Management and Monitoring, Order Management Fallout, and CDR processing and PCRF. In the telecommunications industry, the BSS plays a crucial role in managing various business functions and processes. BSS applications are used by telecommunications service providers to support activities related to customer management, revenue management, and product management.
Delivering and thought leadership contributing to the success of the strategic roadmap for BSS technology initiatives aligned with the organization's business objectives and growth strategies.
Defining and maintaining the BSS technology architecture, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure to support current and future business needs.
Leading the integration of BSS systems with other internal and external systems, such as CRM, OSS, and third-party applications, to enable seamless data flow and process automation.
Managing relationships with BSS technology vendors and service providers, including negotiating contracts, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
Providing technical leadership to a team of Oracle BRM technology professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive high performance, foster innovation, and develop technical expertise within the team.
Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of BSS technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements and customize/configure BSS systems to meet specific business needs, ensuring optimal system performance and usability.
Monitoring the performance of Oracle BRM system, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Ensuring BSS systems comply with industry regulations and data security standards, implementing controls and measures to protect customer data and maintain system integrity.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, finance, and customer service, to align Oracle BRM technology initiatives with business goals and address stakeholder needs.
Leading initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness and agility in all of the Safelink Process.
Being responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of Clarify re-architecture and the Customer Master in the NSA program.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Experience with application development, technical leadership experience in large complex corporate environments, preferably Telecom Billing Applications.
Experience in Telecom OSS/BSS platform with extensive experience in Billing Domain.
Experience developing billing and subscription related technologies and Oracle BRM product technical expertise for developing highly scalable, reliable open systems platforms.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Ability to establish goals and objectives for Applications running within/on platforms under our control and recommend solutions for doing the same within complex SaaS environments.
Ability to understand customer service problems by utilizing key metrics and identifying trend, letting data tell the story rather than perception and feelings.
Deep understand of business drivers and business goals and how they translate to IT concepts and apply to overall Value segment, working outside in from the PoV of customer experiences; and peer Application Development Teams inside and out contact center technology teams.
Experience with strategic, multi-discipline/function customer engagement center oversight, with a successful track record of large-scale technology, and operating model transformation.
Visionary problem solver, and creative thinker who can confidently express complex ideas in an articulate, concise manner and have an acute ability for attention to detail.
Ability to explain technical and abstract technologies to leaders in a way that creates a level playing field.
Ability to pivot as directional requests shift and market needs change.
Ability to create innovation projects to solve customer problems, encourage and deliver whitepaper through leadership and patents that help us strengthen our position in the Value market.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $141,000.00 and $263,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
