Work Schedule: Mon.-Fri., 8am-5pm

POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Electrical Engineering Lead at Evolution Well Services' (EVO) you will leverage your technical expertise and leadership acumen to oversee a team comprising electrical designers/draftsmen and electrical engineers. Your role involves orchestrating work assignments and timelines pertinent to electrical systems design, buildout, troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts for EVO’s hydraulic fracturing fleet equipment.

Your foremost responsibility as Electrical Engineering Lead is to focus on achievement of goals and align resources as necessary to achieve those goals within allocated timeframe. To do this you will need to align multiple internal groups, companies, vendors, technologies and processes. You will also manage the day-to-day activities encompassing electrical equipment fabrication, assembly, testing, and field operations troubleshooting. Beyond this, you will engage in implementing design and database improvements and manage electrical engineering ECR/ECO/ECN processes. This multifaceted role extends to collaboration with other essential units within EVO, including Innovation Engineering team and Asset Integrity. Your input will be indispensable in lending electrical engineering support for research and development endeavors as well as in the strategic revamping of equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, drafting, data management, proficiency in CAD software and a passion for delivering high-quality work products in a time-efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word 'May.')

  • Responsible for the electrical engineering design work projects assigned to the electrical engineering department of EVO – Technical leadership on all projects will be expected
  • Create detailed electrical designs, schematics and drawings using CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD) to meet project specifications.
  • Provide leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers, to define design requirements and project goals.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance designs.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing and production teams to ensure efficient design production.
  • Prepare and maintain design documentation, including electrical schematics, bills of materials, and technical reports within the EVO PDM/PLM systems.
  • Collaborate with other EVO departments, such as the Innovation Engineering team and Asset Integrity, to support special projects with electrical engineering design and drafting.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to identify and implement process enhancements and adopt best practices.
  • Innovation is expected, including contributing to EVO’s innovation engineering program and contributing to intellectual property portfolio through invention disclosure and participation in patent process
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure successful operations and business continuity.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • • Successfully passes background checks, pre-employment drug screening, and any prerequisite competency assessments.
  • • Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • • Daily predictable attendance at workstation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • • A bachelor’s or graduate degree in electrical engineering is required
  • • 7-10+ years’ experience is required.
  • • Experience in the oil and gas industry or other such industry such as mining, industrial, chemical plants and/or heavy equipment design is a plus.
  • • Minimum of 5 years’ experience generating electrical systems and schematics using 2D modeling software (AutoCAD & Inventor – Preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES

  • • Proficiency in 2D CAD software for electrical design and drafting is required.
  • • Proven experience as an electrical engineer or similar role in a relevant industry
  • • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, digital tools, apps, and other advanced software
  • • Knowledgeable in applicable electrical codes and safety (NEC, CSA, IEEE, NETA) standards
  • • Self-motivated with the ability to multitask, analyze and prioritize work
  • • Experience working within an engineering product data management (PDM) system such as VAULT is a plus
  • • Researches and manages all documentation on EVO electrical equipment. (schematics, BOMs, etc.)
  • • Expertise with electrical component selection and manufacturing and testing processes
  • Expertise with control, low and medium voltage systems
  • Experience/capability in standardizing and implementing engineering processes (e.g., ECN, ECO, etc.).
  • Ability to read and develop electrical design prints/schematics
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a foundation in teamwork.
  • Ability to effectively multitask and maintain meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience in control systems design up to medium voltage systems a plus
  • Manages the electrical engineering team with onboarding of new employees and assigning mentors for the new employees

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT

  • Demonstrated mastery of computer-aided-design (CAD) and Drafting
  • Proven technical expertise and knowledge of various EVO equipment designs.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a track record of implementing efficient engineer process enhancements.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize EVO PDM/PLM software (Vault)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive work projects to completion in a timely manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Lead electrical engineer works primarily indoors and will be sitting for prolonged periods at a desk, while typing on a computer, whether in home office, corporate office, client office, or EVO jobsite. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. When required to visit a wellsite, the Lead electrical engineer ’s work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions, if visiting a pad, the Electrical Designer may be required to wear company-mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and safety gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. The Lead electrical engineer must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently, and will be required to walk, climb, bend, reach, squat/kneel.

Work hours may include early morning, late afternoon/evening hours, and weekends in combination depending on job necessity.
