Position Specific Description

Come be a part of the Grid Transformation and Integration Team!  This highly diverse group steers the direction of Distribution Engineering and Construction teams to develop long term safe, reliable, economic business and engineering solutions.  By applying past experiences, understanding the driving guidelines, leveraging data analysis, and engaging in team discussions we identify small changes that lead to big impacts. This job leads strategic initiatives in support of the Power Delivery business unit. 

The selected candidate will:

•    Develop comprehensive policies based on the Florida Administrative Code, OSHA, NESC, NEC, municipalities, DOT, and FPL business guidelines

•    Drive change management through variety of communications tools and manuals including ESN, OpModel, SPO, ESS, DCS, and DERM 

•    Support FPL and NW Region integration for engineering standards and inventory

•    Lead storm forensic analysis and reporting to the Public Service Commission

•    Develop Tariff charges and support annual filing requirements

•    Manage all inventory units (CU and MU) and Auto Inventory for Design Manager

This position is based at our Jupiter West Office.  The Bayfront Office is available for internal employees.

Job Overview

This job is responsible for applying diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Employees in this role evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects. This position conducts analysis on system performance and reliability strategy and provides recommendations.



Job Duties & Responsibilities

•   Works on all aspects of engineering design and permitting

•   Acts as a single point of contact for mid-level complexity projects for the department

•   Tracks and reports on performance

•   Delivers company standards, policies, training, and support of organization

•   Prepares communications and presentations, and conducts meetings

•   Meets attendance and storm duty requirements

•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

•  Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

•  High School Grad / GED

•  Bachelor's - Engineering

•  Experience:3+ years



Preferred Qualifications

•  Certified Professional Engineer (PE)

•  Six Sigma Black Belt Certified

•  Six Sigma Green Belt Certified

•  Master's Degree

•  Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified

•  Six Sigma Master Black Belt
