As a Consultant (AI Science) you will develop and deploy AI models and build AI capabilities at Verizon. These AI capabilities will include predictive, prescriptive and adaptive applications for all predictions and inferences at Verizon. Models will typically get implemented on premise, in cloud and/or on the edge and in both real-time and batch mode depending upon the business applications.
Driving data-derived insights across the wide range of problem statement across business domain by developing advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms and computational algorithms based on business initiatives
Directing the gathering of data, assessing data validity and synthesizing data into large analytics datasets to support project goals
Analyzing structured and unstructured data using data mining/statistical/machine learning/deep learning tools, Data visualization, Digital/Web analytics tools and techniques and storytelling
Mentoring/Guiding one to two members in the team on technical aspects, on a need basis.
What we’re looking for...
You have strong analytical skills, technical expertise in data science and AI methods and are eager to work in a collaborative environment with global teams to drive machine learning applications in business problems, develop end to end AI and analytical solutions that drive outcomes
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Expert level understanding and ability to explain both the code and the underlying math used in algorithms/models.
Excellent coding proficiency with demonstrated expertise in python, java, R, etc.
Expert level knowledge of AI/ML models, frameworks (keras, pytorch, etc.) and libraries/packages/apis (e.g., scikit)
Three or more years of developing models and algorithms independently, writing your own code, developing strategy for algorithmic experimentation, and deploying in production.
Experience with both batch and streaming models in production
Two or more years of experience in scaling AI in areas like personalization, prediction, experimentation, NLP, etc.
Four or more years of experience in developing models and algorithms independently, writing your own code, developing strategy for algorithmic experimentation, and deploying in production.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Analytical and problem-solving skills with good communication skills
Experience in Mathematical Optimization, Simulations, Deep Learning.
Experience with Hadoop, AWS or other distributed compute services.
Advanced SQL skills with Teradata, SQL Server, Hive.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field.
Ability to explain both the code and the underlying math used in algorithms/models.
Experience in both batch and streaming models in production.
Knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and AI/ML models.
Experience in data structures, data modeling and software architecture skills.
Good cross-functional collaboration skills.
