THE TEAM AND THE JOB

The Engineering Vendor Program Office (EVPO) performs governance functions managing operational efficiency and aligns engineering spend to the firm’s OneGS strategy. It is a mechanism to eliminate duplication across organization, avoid cost, facilitate the selection and maintenance of the best solution, and optimize the process of building consensus. Streamline and expedite product selection process throughout the firm, enabling engineering and product teams to evaluate solutions within established guidelines, thereby enhancing transparency in the Engineering leadership decision making. EVPOs core capability is to review and approve product selection, drive process improvement initiatives for vendor engagement, monitor demand for engineering capabilities and build traceability into decisions. The key stakeholders who benefit from EVPOs service offerings are (i) engineers and product owners who implement functionalities offered by external Technology companies, (ii) sales relationship owners (primarily concentrated in IBD, AMD and PWM), (iii) senior leaders (Engineering and EO) who meet with Technology companies, (iv) functions related to vendor lifecycle, specifically technology risk, third party risk, strategic sourcing, (v) compliance and (vi) technology companies and venture capital portfolio companies who wish to engage with the firm. 

As an EVPO team member you will help facilitate and accelerate product selection across the firm. This will allow Engineering and Markets Teams to evaluate solutions under structured guidelines providing greater transparency into decision making by Engineering leadership team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or other areas with elective courses in technical discipline
  • Must have 1-3 years of experience with:
  • Project/program, relationship, or account management experience
  • Prior experience in technical program management
  • Facilitating conflict resolution and building consensus within a geographically distributed team.
  • Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders within the context of a software development project and program.
  • Sales, banking, or engineering experience.
  • Planning and helping manage risks, issues, and program deliveries.
  • Experience with Analytics and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, pays attention to detail and demonstrates appropriate financial/analytical skills. 
  • Must work well in a global team, multi-tasking environment and under pressure.
  • Adaptability and being comfortable with uncertainty.
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills

Other qualifications

  • Functional knowledge of business management capabilities (OKRs, program mgmt., vendor mgmt., financial planning and analysis)
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences and working globally
  • Experience in major product/vendor management applications (i.e., Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong knowledge and experience working third-party vendor technology. 
  • Experience exploring and leveraging technology research tools and companies (e.g. Gartner, Forrester) 
  • Experience in process improvement projects and tools. 
  • Innovative and flexible in coming up with suggestions and ideas
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
  • Ability (and tenacity) to clearly express ideas and arguments in Executive and Vendor meetings and on paper (i.e., great written and verbal communications skills)
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Experience with technology vendor sourcing/researching process will be a plus.
