What you'll be doing...

You will be ensuring compliance with Verizon Environmental Health & Safety policies. This team provides direction with evaluating network projects proposed by submarket teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Reviewing environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II reports, to identify cases of non-compliance with ASTM and CERCLA regulations and non-conformance with company policy and ASTM standards for proposed facilities.

  • Maintaining knowledge of current regulatory policies and standards in order to best provide guidance and support to the business.

  • Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal wetland regulations.

  • Working with Environmental Counsel to ensure all appropriate environmental permits are obtained.

  • Coordinating compliance activities to maintain permits and certificates. 

  • Coordinating with other internal teams to ensure construction projects and the network build-outs are meeting regulatory requirements as determined by municipality agreements and company standards.

  • Assisting in the review and implementation of soil and ground water management plans as well as health and safety plans.

  • Conducting environmental training sessions for the Real Estate teams, as needed.

  • Ensuring the appropriate environmental due diligence documentation has been posted to Verizon database systems.

  • Maintaining and tracking EES processes.

You are well versed in Environmental Sciences and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You deploy your skills including a keen attention to detail and commitment to quality to make a positive impact on the organization. You work well independently but also enjoy collaborating with other teams across the organization to solve problems.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Environmental Project Management experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Environmental Science degree.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels from team members to executive management

  • Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation, leadership, and team orientation

  • Demonstrates analytic, technical, and organizational skills.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously

  • Proven track record of meeting goals and objectives while ensuring compliance to company regulations.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $134,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
