About this Role

Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for an Estimator with NETA/Electrical Project experience to join our team in Converse, TX. 

The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate and competitive bids. Additionally, the Estimator will work closely with the Estimating Manager and other stakeholders to ensure all estimates are thorough, professional, and align with company standards.

What You'll Do

  • Estimate Preparation:
    • Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and customer scopes of work to prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates.
    • Break down items of work necessary to perform the project and create detailed bid packages.
    • Review Estimates for accuracy and completeness before submission.
    • Perform job walks at various sites as needed to assist with estimate preparation.
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure all estimates are performed in accordance with all applicable standards and specifications.
    • Ensure all estimates are professional and free from errors and that all scope of work is adequately accounted for.
  • Collaborate With Stakeholders
    • Work with Project Managers, technical managers, and department leads to gather comprehensive details for accurate estimation processes.
    • Communicate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
    • Be the liaison between PES and customers regarding purchase orders and scope verifications.
    • Present, explain, and justify estimates to senior managers and stakeholders.
    • Participate in negotiations with customers and leadership team to ensure that projects are able to be executed and profitable.
  • Safety
    • Identify issues and topics that need to be addressed and trained on.
    • Ensure all safety policies are being followed and adequate for work being performed.
    • Create a culture of championing safety and ensuring all employees put safety at the forefront of every task.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Estimator in a similar industry.
  • Previous experience Estimating for NETA/Electrical and Engineering Projects.
  • Experience reading one-lines and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
