The Bengaluru and Hyderabad Chief of Staff team works closely with the Country Head of Goldman Sachs Services India and the Chief Administrative Officer of Goldman Sachs Services India. The responsibilities of the team are aligned to supporting the regional strategic and organizational priorities, and related execution, tracking and reporting.
YOUR IMPACT
The Bengaluru and Hyderabad Chief of Staff team has responsibilities across a variety of regional imperatives, including helping define strategic priorities and drive related execution, organizational management, investments in culture and employee experience, branding, communication, internal and external engagements, and partnering with global teams in driving firmwide initiatives. The team is focused on fostering an environment that maximizes the productivity and effectiveness of our people, enabling transparency on the regional strategy and priorities across the organization, and serving as strategic advisors, solution-oriented problem-solvers and stewards of the Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices.
JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSBILITIES
- Developing a deep understanding of the Goldman Sachs Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices, regional competencies and focus areas, and helping identify opportunities to advance key strategic priorities including through synthesizing divisional analyses to abstract regional themes for effective decision-making
- Contributing to industry and regional materials on topics including India’s Global Capability Center industry, the Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices’ evolution, front to back competencies, client and industry engagements, and philanthropic efforts
- Driving regional firmwide communication efforts through strategic messaging via townhalls, senior leadership engagements, firmwide email communications, and other channels. Supporting the leadership team for branding initiatives and external engagements including developing bespoke, thematic narratives and material based on topics of engagement
- Enabling differentiated opportunities to drive connectivity between the Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices and the rest of the firm by managing engagements with global senior leadership through a variety of formats including 1:1 meetings, leadership connects, townhalls etc.
- Partnering with divisional leadership and divisional chiefs of staff in managing senior leadership visits to the region, ensuring an immersive experience of the offices, with content centric engagements that highlight the depth and breadth of expertise of our teams
- Supporting organizational governance forums and curating impactful agenda items, relevant discussion topics and related materials
- Acting as a liaison between the Bengaluru and Hyderabad Chief of Staff team and divisional chiefs of staff through connectivity and thoughtful stakeholder management
- Owning Bengaluru and Hyderabad cross-divisional employee recognition and engagement initiatives including the Bengaluru and Hyderabad Awards, GS culture-focused events etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA with 5-8 years of experience in financial services, Goldman Sachs experience is a plus
- Strategy and Execution: Display a commercial mind-set, define effective strategies and drives timebound execution, aligned to regional priorities
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects with a clear understanding of objectives, to deliver high quality, content-rich deliverables
- Judgement and Independent Thinking: Demonstrate sound judgement and thoughtful decision-making with an ability to work independently and navigate ambiguity
- Integrity and Confidentiality: Uphold the highest ethical standards and integrity, ensuring strict confidentiality and careful handling of sensitive information
- Accountability, Adaptability and Proactiveness: Self-starter who demonstrates ownership for deliverables, approaches projects with a long-term lens, plans for contingencies, finds alternative solutions and adapts quickly to a dynamic working environment
- Communication, Influence and Negotiation Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor delivery and messaging based on the audience, and relay relevant information on complex topics in a concise manner. Present compelling ideas to leadership and peers with data-driven rationale overlaid with persuasive presentation to drive consensus. Display confidence in articulating recommendations and influencing outcomes
