We are seeking candidates with experience in firmware development and hardware platform (i.e. Printed Circuit Board) rework to support our hardware penetration testing lab in Cork, Ireland. The Cork site is home to a range of digital IP teams working on cutting edge IP for the latest Snapdragon chip sets. The security lab team is working with the latest tools and techniques to perform hardware penetration testing. Successful candidates will be joining a vibrant hardware security lab team, with a strong collaboration with several Qualcomm security labs around the global.

Qualcomm Cork, a greenfield site based in the beautiful harbour city of Cork opened its doors in August 2013 and has been growing ever since across our QCT Engineering, OneIT and HR teams. The Cork QCT engineering team is now over 500+ engineers strong and is continuing to expand. • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field
• Experience in firmware/low-level programming.
• Experience in C/C++ and ARM assembly.
• Knowledge in ARM architecture.
• Experience in scripting and automation: python and shell.
• Experience in lab equipment and hardware debugging tools.
• Experience in PCB rework using soldering stations.
• Collaborative Problem-Solver across HW/SW Cross-Functional Team.
• Good communication skills, curiosity and enthusiasm, ability to work independently and willingness to learn
• Knowledge in advanced PCB rework stations.
• Knowledge in RISC-V architecture and assembly.
• Knowledge in RISC-V assembly.
• Knowledge in cryptography and security-related topics (e.g., key management and authentication)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
