IT Data Engineer Intern

We are looking for a Data Engineer intern who can develop and productionize data pipelines on large scale BigData. Candidate will be part of a global cross-functional team that’s responsible for the development of Data applications and pipelines using state-of-the-art algorithms for Qualcomm engineering teams. As part of this team, you will have opportunity to explore and work on Cloud Databases and Frameworks

As an intern, you should be eager to learn and explore large-scale data sets by applying distributed frameworks for data processing and transformation. Proficiency in python, knowledge on database architecture, querying/transforming large datasets and working knowledge of Linux platform are required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering

• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python

• Good foundation and working knowledge of databases.

Responsibilities

• Performance exploratory analysis and pipeline design on a large-scale data

• Develop and deploy reusable data components to process and transform data.

• Perform data validation within the pipeline and maintain data quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, or relevant experience in Data Engineering.

• Experience in implementing end to end Data pipelines from development to deployment.

• Experience with relevant distributed frameworks like Apache Beam/Spark

• Experience with querying and analyzing large scale data sets.

• Good understanding of code optimization techniques and algorithm design

• Proficient with relational and non-relational databases

• Experience with GIT or other version control systems

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Experience working in a distributed team and communicating across geographic boundaries
