General Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional with over 5 years of experience in managing Github Enterprise Server/Cloud as a Technical Lead.  This role requires extensive experience with administering Github as well as migrating from on-premises GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) to GitHub Enterprise Cloud (GHEC), and from various source code management systems such as GitLab, Perforce, ClearCase, and DesignSync, particularly within large organizations. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and excellent communication skills to manage Github in a highly complex engineering environment.

**Position requires to be onsite full time in San Diego

Key Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years in Git related source control and CI/CD systems management roles with proven leadership capabilities.
  • GitHub Admin Experience: Experience managing GitHub in a large enterprise environment.
  • Migration Expertise: Demonstrated success in multiple migrations to GitHub Cloud from various source code management systems.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Experience with GCP and Azure, including Entra ID (Identity platform).
  • DevOps Approach: Strong DevOps mindset, focusing on creating reliable, scalable, and innovative solutions.
  • CI/CD and Automation: Proficient with GitHub Actions for CI/CD, automation, and orchestration using the GitHub APIs.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills for addressing post-migration issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management and engineering teams.
  • Custom Development/Scripting: Experience with Java, Ruby, Python, JavaScript, or other languages and frameworks.
  • Infrastructure/Network Management: Experience with infrastructure, network, and configuration management systems.
  • Systems Administration: Experience with Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Log Analysis/Monitoring: Proficient with tools like Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Git Operations: Oversee all Github related activities, providing management options and evaluating their pros and cons.
  • Manage Migrations: Direct the migration process from GHES to GHEC.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work with a diverse, global team of engineers and project managers to design, build, and maintain GitHub services.
  • Minimize Disruptions: Perform off-hours work as needed to minimize service interruptions for end users.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing development and 24x7 operational support with on-call responsibilities for GitHub service.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills for addressing post-migration issues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including management and engineering teams.
  • Agile SCRUM: Actively participates in Agile SCRUM practices to support project delivery and team collaboration.

Education Requirements:

Computer Science degree or equivalent.

5+ years of relevant experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
OR
7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$116,800.00 - $175,200.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
