Global Banking & Markets – Investment Banking

Investment Banking – Banking Core Services: Business Intelligence

Banking Core Services (BCS) provide operational support throughout the lifecycle of a Corporate Advisory or Financing Deal. The department is structured as six functional teams across Americas, EMEA and Asia locations. The teams are set up to manage each deal through client onboarding, logistics of marketing, deal execution, settlement and invoicing of fees and expenses. 

Principal responsibilities of the Business Intelligence team are:

  • Identifying and delivering low-code solutions that provide efficiency, risk control and/or enhanced client experience for Investment Banking desks and clients
  • Supporting Investment Banking and Investment Banking Operations (IB Ops) through automated solutions and data representation. These automations create time savings, mitigate risks, and enable holistic views of internal processes. Our team utilizes a modern tool set to deliver high quality projects to both internal and external customers. 
  • Close partnership with Engineering through the lifecycle ensures end users receive the optimal solution fit-for-purpose.

Role Summary and Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert in BI Tools, methodologies, and best practices, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. This includes A / B testing, data validation, and data transformation process.
  • Provide training and mentorship to members to improve their BI Skills and analytic capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into tangible solution specifications and high quality, on time deliverables
  • Engage with stakeholders across business lines to identify and deliver automation and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure that data analysis and identified opportunities aligns with business objectives and provide strategic guidance on how to leverage BI for growth and operational efficiency.
  • Familiar with database architecture to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
  • Partner with teams regionally and globally on projects and strategic work.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Business Intelligence, Data Analytics or Low Code Automations, with a proven track record of strategic thinking and delivering impactful BI.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and individual workload.
  • Expertise in BI Tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, etc)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Experience training individuals in BI best practices.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills, ability to gather stakeholder support for individual initiatives and see them through to execution.
  • Team oriented – works closely with teammates daily and sharing knowledge and key information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Alteryx Designer Core or Advanced Certification
  • Alteryx Experience with Python or R
  • Background in Finance, specifically Loans and Investment Banking
