BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

 We have Collateral Management (Cleared and non-cleared), Portfolio Reconciliation and Margin Lending which are part of Margin, Collateral Valuations Operations (MCVO) sits within the Goldman Sachs Operations organization. A global, multi-faceted and cross product function, the primary objective of the department is the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the active monitoring of clients’ derivative, prime brokerage, GS execution & clearing, derivatives clearing and securities financing portfolios.  The Bangalore MCVO team is works in close partnership with teams in New York, London, Singapore & Salt Lake City. 

 Products supported include foreign exchange, commodities, credit, equity, interest rate and bespoke structured derivatives, equities , fixed income & OTC Cleared derivatives. The team manages a wide range of complex processes, with members developing skills and competencies around derivative & security products and their respective business areas, legal agreements, technology flows and regulations.

An employee within MCVO will primarily be focused on the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the performance of a number of operational processes. They will be expected to perform these functions as well as demonstrating innovation and a proactive approach, highlighting inefficiencies, risks and implementing improvements. In addition, they will also be expected to provide a high level of service to their clients. The role will involve close interaction with a wide range of areas of the bank including Credit Risk Management, Legal and Compliance, Sales, Trading, Controllers, Middle Office, Client Representatives, Client  Clearing Services and other Operations Departments. As a result the successful candidate will be required to possess strong communication skill

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Calculation and issuance of margin calls, including validation and follow up, ensuring calls are met in a timely manner
  • Manage day to day processing of various tasks and manage risk effectively through prioritization for the business and firm 
  • Respond to and manage incoming queries across multiple stakeholders and resolve all client disputes
  • Optimize clients’ operational efficiency by offering innovative yet tangible solutions that meet their needs
  • Communicate and connect with multiple levels of the organization 
  • Demonstrates a strong risk management culture and continues to look for opportunities to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong appreciation of client service 
  • Proactively working on enhancing the team’s process and controls           

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong motivation to succeed, both as an individual and as a team
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Effective problem solving and critical-thinking skills 
  • Ability to use discretion and good judgement 
  • Good understanding of products, functioning and rik
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong appreciation of client service 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical skills and exposure to project work
  • Ability to deal with multiple complex issues at the same time while meeting client deadlines
  • Understanding of derivatives and interest in financial markets
  • Ready to take on challenges with positive attitude and work in a dynamic environment

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Margin Call analysis , validation and Issuane for Futures and OTC Clearing Clietns
  • Ensure timely and accurate settlement of of all margin movements. 
  • Day to day Break management to ensure Ledger integrity and integrity in marign calculations
  • Working with Clearing Houses to ensure margin calls are covered
  • Optimize the marign collateral with Clearing houses by ensuring optimal buffers.
  • Respond to and manage incoming queries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Resolution and escalation of all client disputes and queries
  • Proactively working on enhancing the team’s process and controls          
  • Project and initiative management
