BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW 

Securities Lending Operations provides operational support for the Securities Lending Business covering functions including Collateral Management (Account Management and Agency Lending), Inventory Management (Settlements), Trade Support, Billing and Strategic Projects. We support the business generated in London for our international client base across global markets. Traders execute Borrow and Loan transactions in all major markets, with increasing presence in emerging markets. Upon settlement, trades are collateralized (tri-party & bi-lateral) using a variety of products; Equities, Cash, Bonds, US Treasuries, by Operations. Securities Lending Operations globally is located in London,  Salt Lake City, Singapore and Bengaluru. The department’s key priorities are to mitigate risk, provide exceptional client service and drive strategic change.

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include:

  • Fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders – Business, Engineering, Legal, Controllers, Operations, Treasury and Credit. Actively engage, partner and drive changes, provide excellent service and support
  • Delivering transactions in agreed time-frames, as per SLA’s whilst improving quality of processing, reducing errors and inculcating the zero error culture
  • Communicating with key stakeholders on regular basis and ensure posting and escalation process is adhered too.
  • Engage and drive industry changes and involve in client and vendor relationship management 
  • Ensuring all operational risk/issues are identified and mitigated appropriately and proactively
  • Monitoring and ensuring all borrows booked are collateralized appropriately in a timely fashion
  • To work closely with the trading desk on borrow mismatches and ensuring the exceptions are addressed at the time of collateralization
  • Proactively engaging with Treasury to ensure the appropriate funds are in place for trade settlement
  • Pledge and release of collateral at DTC, Ensuring settlement activities occur as expected
  • Ensure Triparty accounts at BNY Mellon are appropriately covered with eligible collateral
  • Monitor exposure swings on internal accounts and ensure the appropriate margin calls are sent
  • Completing and overseeing daily checklist ensuring all controls, procedures and processes relating to the assigned functions are followed
  • To collaborate with technology and business partner to improve strategic process workflows
  • To provide training and coaching to the team to continue upskilling the individuals
  • Have a front to back understanding of the product to pitch ideas and changes to workflows that can create efficiency and effectiveness in process management
  • Experience of vendor platforms (Equilend/Pirum)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in financial services 
  • Candidate must be comfortable in a high-pressured environment
  • Proven analytical skills, problem solving ability, and attention to detail 
  • Aptitude for building relationships, along with the ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal and external clients with differing levels of product experience 
  • Excellent written, communication and presentations skills
  • Integrity and passion for working in a competitive environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects & tasks, has strong organizational skills and effectively manages competing priorities 
  • Enthusiatic and commited individual looking to operate in dynamic working encironment

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a securities lending, settlement, trade support, billing or collateral role would be an advantage
  • Equities Industry and market knowledge would be an advantage
  • Experience of vendor platforms (Equilend/Pirum) would be an advantage
  • Experience of Global One system would be an advantage, not essential
  • Degree / A level educated candidate would be preferred. IAQ would be an advantage
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
