You will join the Consumer Financial Services team, reporting to the Senior Director Consumer Financial services in Southern Europe. This high-impact role involves working closely with senior stakeholders across geographies, businesses and functions to drive the consumer strategy. Our team partners with leaders across PayPal to deliver innovative consumer products in Southern Europe, guide on the strategic market decisions to grow the consumer franchise and take ownership of the P&L of consumer products
Your Way to Impact
As the commercial lead for Consumer Financial Services at PayPal Iberia, you’ll oversee the entire product journey, from initial design and launch to driving growth and refining strategies along the way. You’ll also manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) for these products, ensuring they align with PayPal’s broader strategy and customer-first mission. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of teams and stakeholders (Country Managers, sales, legal, compliance, and marketing) to develop and execute a product strategy that combines global goals with the unique needs of the Iberia market.
Your Day-to-Day
Product Design & Strategy:
Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Consumer Financial Services products, focusing on BNPL, NFC payments, and other financial innovations.
Identify customer pain points, market opportunities, and competitive insights to shape compelling value propositions.
Product Development & Launch:
Lead end-to-end product design, development, and go-to-market execution.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, legal, compliance, marketing) to ensure seamless product launches that meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Build and manage a robust pipeline of future product innovations to sustain competitive differentiation.
Growth & Performance Management:
Drive product adoption, user engagement, and revenue growth by implementing effective marketing, sales, and customer acquisition strategies.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer retention, revenue, and profitability, and take corrective actions as needed.
Own the P&L for Consumer Financial Services products, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic goals.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Act as a strategic partner to Country Managers, supporting local execution and integration of product strategies.
Work with sales teams to identify partnership opportunities and distribution channels to maximize reach.
Engage with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.
Leadership & Expertise:
Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise on consumer credit products, BNPL solutions, and NFC technologies.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer focus across the organization.
What You Need to Succeed
A degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Extensive experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling financial products.
In-depth knowledge of credit products, BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later), or payment technologies is essential.
Strong business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of P&L (Profit and Loss) management.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization.
Sharp problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to influence at all levels.
