About this Role

W.T. Byler, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in the Houston, TX area to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on large heavy equipment machinery fleet.

What You'll Do

  • Ensuring that project safety and health is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and procedures, including client standards and requirements
  • Perform equipment inspections and provide corresponding reports, including protective guards, loose bolts and safety devices on equipment
  • Dismantle and repair heavy equipment including excavators, forklifts, loaders, dozers, motor graders, etc.
  • Repair and lubricate equipment and heavy equipment
  • Respond to service requests for field equipment
  • Order required parts for equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a heavy machinery mechanic
  • Ability to work on Caterpillar, John Deere, Link Belt, Mitsubishi and other major equipment manufacturer machinery
  • Fabricating and welding experience a plus
  • Ability to travel for extended project assignments and weekend work call-outs as needed
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, background check and physical
  • Current, valid driver license
