About this Role

As a Generalist with a focus on Recruiting & Onboarding, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, hiring, and integrating field workers, crane operators, mechanics, welders and drivers into our deep foundation construction company. This position requires exceptional multitasking skills, strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of HR best practices—particularly in hiring skilled labor and ensuring compliance with FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations). What You'll Do

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, focusing on sourcing, screening, and hiring field workers and DOTD/non-DOTD drivers for construction projects.
  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract skilled trade workers and licensed drivers.
  • Ensure driver candidates meet FMCSR requirements, DOT compliance, licensing, and safety standards.
  • Build relationships with trade schools, industry networks, CDL training programs, and referral sources to maintain a steady pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Oversee and enhance the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws, DOT/FMCSR regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with additional HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, and performance management.
  • Thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects simultaneously.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience in recruiting and onboarding field workers and CDL/non-CDL drivers in the construction or transportation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSR requirements and DOT hiring compliance.
  • Experience with iCIMS or similar applicant tracking systems (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of sourcing strategies for skilled trade workers and licensed drivers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in HR software and applicant tracking systems.
