Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a detail oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our home office team in Heber, UT! The HR Generalist supports HR operations, managing employee life cycles, compliance, and engagement initiatives. This role is essential for aligning HR practices with organizational objectives and fostering a positive workplace culture within the electrical power distribution and storage infrastructure sector.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Onboarding and Offboarding Management

  • Support onboarding coordinator with pre-hire paperwork and background checks to ensure smooth onboarding of new employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees, supporting continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Administration of HR Programs and Policies

  • Implement and communicate HR policies and procedures to employees, fostering understanding and adherence.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including employee enrollment, changes, and addressing inquiries.
  • Manage employee leave requests, maintaining accurate and compliant documentation.
  • Evaluate HR programs and policies, recommending improvements to enhance HR practices and efficiency.

Employee Relations and Engagement Support

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and resolving concerns.
  • Conduct investigations into employee relations issues, documenting findings and recommending resolutions.
  • Organize employee engagement initiatives to build a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with management to address and resolve workplace conflicts, promoting a supportive environment.

Compliance and Regulatory Management

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws, ensuring HR practices remain compliant.
  • Assist in conducting compliance audits, preparing reports, and advising on corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage documentation for I-9 audits and other regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Advise management on compliance-related issues, best practices, and changes in employment regulations.

Training, Development, and HR Reporting

  • Coordinate employee training sessions and workshops to support ongoing skill development.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, resources, and tracking tools to monitor participation.
  • Assess training needs in consultation with department heads, recommending suitable programs.
  • Generate HR metrics and reports, tracking turnover, retention rates, and other key indicators for management review.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, supporting data integrity and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in an HR role, preferably in construction, industrial, or similar environments.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in HRIS, Microsoft Office Suite, and data management.
  • Interpersonal Abilities: Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
